After replacing the battery, it's important to be mindful of your charging habits. These batteries include safety features designed to prevent fires triggered by voltage fluctuations beyond a certain threshold. It's crucial not to leave the charger connected overnight to mitigate this risk. Furthermore, avoid leaving the bike uncharged for extended periods of several weeks or months. We'll provide guidance on automating the charging process to help streamline this.

How does battery repair work for my S3 / X3 , S4 / X4? 

1. 1. Remove and send your battery
Once you've placed your order online, you'll receive detailed instructions for shipping the battery.

2. 2. VanMoof Battery Repair and Test

A VanMoof S3 battery repair involves fixing any faulty components of the printed circuit board (BMS).

Defective components of the Battery Management System (BMS) are repaired, which clears any error code from the VanMoof S3 / X3 system. Various errors can be fixed, including Error 4, Error 6, Error 16, Error 17, Error 18, Error 19, Error 20, Error 21.

If there is also a problem with the battery cells (not just the circuit board), you will be contacted to discuss the possibilities.

3. 3. Return delivery to your address
After the repair, your VanMoof S3 battery will be for the fore performance tests as it's in like-new condition. The battery is then safely returned to your address, including a 90 days warranty.
